東南アジアが熱波に襲われている。フィリッピンのマニラでは観測史上最高の38・８度を記録した。しかし、SNSではもっぱら43度から46度となっていた。まだ四月なのに、、、と日本式に考えてはいけない。東南アジアの夏は4月と5月なのだ。一番暑い季節に最高気温を更新というのは順当なのだ。一応、東南アジアの季節は夏、雨季、乾季の三つに分類される。他の国の季節がいつも日本のように四季があると決め付けてはいけない。先々週、マニラ空港の駐車場で火事があった。当初は、暑すぎて自然発火したと言うのがもっぱらの噂だった。私に言わせれば、暑さで発火したのは、思考回路のほうで、このようなデマをあっという間に拡散させてしまった。
