temper には色々な意味があるが、tamper には destory の意味しかない。temper と tamper の発音ははっきりと区別できるはずなのだが、向こうの人たちがいつも正確な発音をしてくれるとは限らない。間違わないように temper expectations = lower expectations と tamper with evidence 証拠隠滅 の例をあげておく。
