サボタージュと言う日本語は死語になったように感じる。しかし英語の　sabotage　はぴんぴんした健康体の単語だ。産業革命で機械に職を奪われた労働階級が機械を壊したのが由来のようだ。その機械とは織り機だったようだ。労働階級は高価な革靴ではなく　sabot を履いていたようだ。sabotage の語源となった　sabot を見れば、sabotage はすぐに理解できる。4:34 辺りから25秒ほど見るとよくわかる。これは、厳密にはsabot ではなく、clog だ。 clog にも「妨げる、詰まる、塞ぐ」の意味があるが、これは　clog の機能が由来のようだ。
