lest について

lest = for fear that, in order to avoid, in case しないように，するといけないから 、、、lest の意味はまあいいとして、lest の後には　should が来て、そしてその　should は普通省略されるので、lest の後の動詞はあたかも原形動詞がつくように見える、、、、とここまではいいのだが、最近はそうでもないらしい。つまり、lest の後には普通の文を続けても構わないらしい。よく耳にする言い方としては　 lest we forget = it should not be forgotten, we should remember.　がある。1:25 I have to stand up and lean lest the dress (should) be wrinkled. ドレスがしわくちゃにならないようにバンの中では立って寄りかかるだけで、座れない。正しい使い方。
