弁護士になるための司法試験はbar examinationです。そのほかの国家試験はboard examinationといいます。どちらも、licensure examination です。また大学の試験はpreliminary examination, midterm examination, final examinationとあります。ちょっとしたテストを英語ではquizといいます。日本語のテストは英語では動詞として使われます。牢屋にいる状態をbehind barsといいます。ビシッとしない弁護士を揶揄してlawyers are liarsといいます。ちんたら遅い法制度を指して"Justice delayed is justice denied"というlegal clicheもあります。41:30 I passed the bar before she died. 母が亡くなる前に司法試験に受かったのさ。
