とばっちりとは跳ね(水が跳ねる事）のこと。傍にいたために他人の問題に巻き込まれてしまうこと。caught in the crossfire(caught in the middle)でも良いと思いますがこれは二人がけんかをしていてそれに第三者が巻き込まれること、それに対して甲が乙に対して怒っていてその矛先が丙に向かってくればそれは甲takes his anger out on 丙(もっと簡単に甲takes it out on 丙,つまり丙に八つ当たりするです。）のようにいいますが、丙の視点からすれば｢とばっちりを食う」となります。要するにとばっちりとはcollateral damage のことです。丙はinnocent bystanderでこのような時はI get dumped on. くらいが妥当でしょう。caught in the crossfireあるいはget dumped onの二つの可能性があります。onをつけずにget dumpedといえばポイされるという意味なので気をつけましょう。0:43を聞きましょう。
