Oh yesterday came suddenly. ビートルズの有名な歌だが、There's a shadow hanging over me. ボクの頭上にかかる陰 とあるが、この陰とはもちろん心配事、問題という意味だ。イディオムで近いものに have something hanging over head があるが、イディオムでありながら決まった言い方はないようだ。面白い例といえる。結論として言えることは問題、悩み事、心配事は頭の上 over にあるということだ。
