マンザナー強制収容所について

第二次世界大戦中に日系アメリカ人が収容された収容所で一番知られたのがマンザナー強制収容所。強制収容所というよりも刑務所と呼んだようがふさわしい場所。英語ではconcentration camp, internment camp, relocation campと呼ばれる。ちなみにManzanarはスペイン語で「リンゴ園」だ。0:59 After the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, the United States government forced nearly 120,000 Japanese American men, women and children to leave their homes to move to internment camps. 2:06 the Manzanar War Relocation Center was one of these camps located in Owens Valley in California.
