laugh it offと言う言葉がありますが、これはむしろ、笑い飛ばすに近いと思います。からからと笑うことが笑ってごまかすの本質ではありません。この笑いは英語ではsmirkです。私の造語で恐縮ですがsmirk and duck(the question/argument)とすれば欧米人と会話中なら理解されます。smirk one's way out the question/argumentでもいいと思います。下のビデオにはI don't mean to be dodging the question.(1:26)とありますが、このようなにやけた笑いがsmirkです。get the smirk off your face.(薄笑いはするな、、、、もっと真剣にやれの意味）でこの言い方もいつの日にか日本的な発想になって、don't smirk it off.(笑ってごまかすなよ)となるかもしれません。
