羽田が大変な事になっている。円安のせいで、訪日客が増えているのは周知の事実だが、羽田に到着してから入管にたどり着くまでが大変困難な状況になっている。人が多すぎて大渋滞をしているのだ。この大渋滞を整理するために30人ほどの職員かボランティアが人波の交通整理をしている。円安は大迷惑だ。下のビデオで、1;25 deep powder とあるが、これは積もった新雪、粉雪 powder snow のこと。スキーするにはもってこいの雪だ。

私の英語ノート 2024/07/01
昨日、同僚に、医者になるのと、弁護士になるのと、英語が出来るようになる、の三つで一番むずかしいのは英語が出来るようになることだよ、と言っておいた。医者や弁護士になるためにはせいぜい10年くらい勉強すれば、国家試験に合格できる。しかし、英語は毎日8時間づつ勉強しても10年でやっと洟垂れ小僧の域だからだ。英語の道を志すということは、医者や弁護士になるというような生易しいことではないのだ（失礼）。すると、この同僚は日本語でも生まれた時からずっと勉強しているのだから、それはわかる、と理解してくれた。英語はOS オペレーションシステムで、医学や法学などはただのアプリだ。AI英語とか、一日15分、とかの、お手軽な英語学習法は、やらないよりはマシだが、到達できるのはせいぜい幼児、小学生レベルだ。やる気のある人は毎日数時間は勉強すべきで、10年20年は当たり前と、知るべしである。単語やイディオムは一日に50語づつ増やすべきだ。
