head in the sand, hide your head in the sand, bury your head in the sandなどがあります。これはダチョウの行動からきた言い回しです。(hide like ostriches)ただし、「見て見ぬ振りをする」(turn a blind eye)とか「穴があったら入りたい」と言う意味でも使われたりもします。....elephant in the roomとはやや違います。
