中距離走が無茶苦茶速い高校の同級生がいた。そいつが大学に進学してタバコを始めたら途端に走れなくなった。「有酸素系運動能力の低下」だ。つまりタバコの一酸化炭素がヘモグロビンと結びつくので、心配の持久力が低下する。そして組織の新陳代謝に時間がかかり回復力が落ちることになる。タバコとコロナの因果関係は相当大きいといえる。欧米には肥満が多いのでコロナの餌食になる。肥満になると脂肪で内臓のあらゆる部分が圧迫される。結果として肺機能が落ちる。　肥満とコロナの因果関係も大きい。体重を落としタバコをやめる、、、これだけでコロナの犠牲者は相当減るだろう。youtube を見ていると、マスクやソーシャルディスタンスばかりが強調されるし、議論の的にもなるが、タバコをやめる、体重を減らす、、ということは話題にすらなっていない。以前、体重を減らすためにオーストラリア人が日本にやってきて日本食だけを食べるという動画があったが、検索できなかった。日本でコロナが流行らないのも食によるところが非常に大きいと思う。9:33 Japan's food culture has contributed a lot to health over here. 日本の食文化は日本人の優れた健康に大いに貢献している。

たしか、渡部昇一先生の「知的生活の方法」だったと思う。昔の大学の先生には恒産が有り、大学の給料に頼ることは無かったと。つまり、大学と言うところは最高学府で、お金に困っていない先生が、質の高い（あるいは偏見に満ちた個性的な）授業をしていたところだったようだ。その通り、だったかもしれないし、そうでもなかったかもしれない。しかし、今よりは大学の数は少なく、先生と生徒のインターアクションの質は高かったはずだ。コロナ禍で大学教育がオンライン化しているが、これでは採算が取れないはずだ。つまり、多くの大学が淘汰あるいは統合されて、大学の数は減り、昔に回帰することになる。オンラインで手軽に学べる授業料の安い大学と対面と教育の質を重んじる授業料の高い大学に分かれることになる、、、、オンラインでも人気のある先生の講義は当然高くなるが。
